The Founding

The narrative of Google's inception began even before its formal incorporation, rooted in the research pursuits of Stanford University Ph.D. students Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Their collaboration on the "BackRub" project, initiated in 1996, sought to address the increasingly chaotic and inefficient state of web search.
